Highlights @ SMT Nuremberg: Higher performance, more efficiency

Essemtec, the leading manufacturer of flexible production systems for electronics, is a reliable innovator. At this year’s SMT 2009 in Nuremberg, the Swiss company will present exciting new developments with higher performances and more efficiency. At Essemtec’s stand, three complete SMT production lines for various production-scales will be presented. SMT 2009 will take place from May 5-7 in Nuremberg, Germany.
Essemtec delivers everything for SMT manufacturing from one source: printers, dispensers, placers and reflow ovens. This concept is advantageous because customers need only one contact person for the machines and processes. At SMT Nuremberg 2009, this overall concept with three complete production lines will be visualized: one fully automatic inline-production (SP900, PANFLEX2, RO-VARIO) and two stand-alone production lines for various requirements for capacity (SP200AV2, FLX2011, RO400FC and SP150, CSM7200-V and RO300FC).
A special highlight at this show will be the new highly flexible pick-and-place machine PANFLEX2, which focuses on the special requirements of electronic manufacturing with plenty of variations. Using the further developed X-vision system, the PANFLEX2 offers more functionality for less money. PANFLEX2 picks and places the smallest 01005 chips as precisely as the large-surfaced fine-pitch 50 x 50 mm QFPs. Additionally, the system can accommodate components up to 15 mm tall. This universal machine picks and places 400 x 300 mm sized printing boards with a speed of up to 12.000 components per hour.
The recently introduced RO-VARIO takes a special position within reflow soldering systems. This oven can solder or dry with circulating air, infrared or UV radiation. Customers may choose the number and types of the process modules. To make the many possibilities and features more understandable for the user, Essemtec will provide personal presentations this year during SMT Nuremberg. Reservations can be directly arranged at the stand.
In the field of stencil printers, two products stand out: the fully automatic SP900 and the semiautomatic SP150. The first one is distinguished by its excellent repeating accuracy and simplicity of use. At the EPP printer benchmark during SMT 2008, this printer caused several surprises among the current branch leaders.
The semiautomatic stencil printer SP150 is an exceptional option for island manufacturing. The machine is space saving, very exact and only prints if the built-in vision system has checked the positioning. The machine is even equipped with a built-in stencil cleaning system.
A reliable and precise dosing system, the CDS6200 is extraordinarily modular and can be configured for a large number of applications. The subject “Cappilar-Underfiller“ at SMT 2009 in Nuremberg is going to be a hot topic and an appropriately equipped system for presentations will be available.

For manufacturers of SMT-prototypes and small-lots, a visit to Paggen Werkzeugtechnik (hall 7, stand 301), Essemtec’s partner company, will be worthwhile. Its manual and semiautomatic assembly equipment are top quality in numerous fields because they increase quality and speed in contrast to the tweezers technique, but investments still remain in small frame.
