Essemtec Upgrades MIS 6.6 Software Suite
Press release
Essemtec’s Management Information System (MIS) for SMD placement machines has been enhanced with additional functions. These include the support of automatic PCB identification with bar code and the splitting of production and placement data for each individual PCB.
MIS is a software suite for the complete work-flow management on SMD pick-and-place machines. The system supports production planning, enables set-up optimization and control, includes a component stock management tool, and stores all production and placement data for traceability.
MIS version 6.6 has been optimized for tracing both panels and PCB clusters. With the upgrade, MIS now saves production and assembly data with reference to each individual circuit. Therefore, data can be analyzed and tracked for each PCB. This is particularly important for the medical, automotive and aviation industries.
MIS 6.6 now supports FLX-CRS (Code Recognition System), the automatic system for PCB identification on pick-and-place machines. In a batch type or in-line production, FLX-CRS reads a bar code label on the PCB entering the pick-and-place machine. MIS registers this PCB code and links all associated assembly data with it.
Additionally, the simulation of assembly time has been further optimized. This function enables the machine operator to decide if it is more efficient to reposition all feeders to their optimum position or to just install the missing components.
MIS 6.6 works with Essemtec’s FLX and Paraquda series SMD placement machines. The software can be installed on the placer itself or on other computers in the network, for example in the production planning department, the component stock or the goods receipt department. As an additional benefit, MIS synchronizes its data with connected ERP and storage systems such as Essemtec’s Tower.
