New Software Release
The release 9.0 of the controlling software offers a lot of new functions, more comfort and still more safety to the users of Essemtec pick & place machines. The innovations concern the main module PLACER, the preparation software BOX, the library of the components LIB, the management of overriding importance information software MIS and new available options.
Release 9.0 of the controlling software offers many new functions, more comfort and even more safety to the users of Essemtec pick & place machines. The innovations concern the main module PLACER, the preparation software BOX, the library of the components LIB, the management of overriding importance information software MIS and new available options.
The heart of the software, module PLACER 9.0 enables the placement of 01005 components at the appropriate equipped machines and supports the option FLX-CVU for the measurement of discrete components before placement. The new optimizing function is able to improve the placing sequence to speed or precision and even considers the height of the component.
Many user requests have been integrated, e.g. automatic learning of pick-up heights, direct links to the library of components and feeder setup program. Additionally, the camera can be moved by mouse click directly to a position on the board.
The programming of the feeders and the preparation are simplified with the new software and the safety of preparation improves as well. Full preparation plans of recurring jobs can be saved, copied and changed together with the feeders.
Additionally, the new version of the preparation software recognizes the trace of the band feeder as well as the configuration of feeder cassettes. The feeders can be programmed directly, now, by reading the barcodes of the feeder and the component, provided the bandwidth is compatible. At cassettes, null-tracks are added automatically and the pick-up position will be calculated precisely. The barcodes for feeders and components can be produced at the touch of a button directly from the software.
The new management information software MIS 5.4 has been fitted with additional functionality. The function for optimizing for a minimal changeover had been extended and shows the no-longer-needed components at the machine, as well as the outstanding components for the next order. With the MIS software preparation, optimizing and line balancing can be calculated considering various points of view. Likewise, the software manages the stock of the components, ensures the quality and saves all placement data for the purpose of documentation and traceability.
The new software versions can be back fitted for all Essemtec placing machines of the CLM, CSM, FLX and Pantera series. The upgrade has no influence on the current placing programs, preparation lists and component libraries; these data can continue be used without issue.
